Elegant Antique 3 Decanter Silver Plated Tantalus with Key, C1910

This is a very elegant Tantalus, the body has been made in silver plated metal that has a very open design. The three Decanters are in cut lead crystal glass. Together it creates a wonderfully light and open design, simply stunning. The base stands securely on four bun feet, with a delicate foliate design in relief. The gallery has a polished shield on both the front and the back that have been left vacant so could be personalized. The sides have sweeping curves that support an inverted tear shape. The handle is reminiscent of designs by Christopher Dresser. The decanter retains the key, to unlock the key is turned and the top drops back slightly and simply snaps back in position to lack the Tantalus again. Just below the lock is the embossed number 27968/24, there is no other makers' information. The whole thing is quite a feast for the eyes.
