Napoleon III Style Twisted Rope and Tassel Carved Armchair 19th Century. A beautiful carved rope and tassel Napoleon III style armchair and ottoman. The illusion of twisted and knotted rope is often associated with the work of the Parisian upholsterer A. M. E. Fournier, who worked at the Boulevard Beaumarchais, from 1850 onwards Fournier was famed for his exceptional upholstered pieces, this is after one of his 1840s designs. The carved wood frame looks to be either mahogany or walnut wood. The fabric upholstery has some wear, but is clean and presentable. Width = 67cm, Height = 82m, Depth = 73cm.
