Item Details
This beautifully ornate, eye-catching National Cash Register, made by the National Cash Register Co. in Dayton, Ohio, USA, is a functioning till, but is in need of a full service as it has been in store for many years and is not working at all smoothly. The display gives values in pounds sterling in pounds, shilling and pence. The till has a bronzed brass body with intricate designs in shallow relief and a glass top. The glass is free of damage. Below the keys is a white marble plinth. The till has various plates, giving us the serial number: 365987. The model number: 35. The makers information and a list of successive patents registered as the design was altered or improved, the last one noted was on June 15th 1897, that dates the till to the very end of the 19th century, as tills supplied after 1900, carried a plate detailing the number of cash registers sold at the turn of the century.
Heavy & solid – this is a substantial piece.
