Rare Antique French Paquet - Maelzel Metronome C1900

This is a rare example of a metronome by the renowned maker Paquet - Maelzel. The metronome is housed in a rectangular rosewood box. The mechanism has a clever variation that allows the needle to fold when the lid is closed. The metronome works well. The base of the box will slde to open and houses the winding key. There is some age related wear.
