This beautifully ornate, eye-catching National Cash Register, made by the National Cash Register Co. in Dayton, Ohio, USA, is a fully functioning till, a true collector’s piece. The display gives values in pounds sterling in pounds, shilling and pence. Fully working condition – all buttons, internal mechanisms, and external key function as they should. The till has a nickel plated brass body with intricate designs in shallow relief and a glass top. The glass is free of damage. Below the keys is a white marble plinth, that has a chip to the underside on one corner. The till has various plate giving us the serial number: 365736. The model number: 41. The makers information and a list of successive patents registered as the design was altered or improved, the last one noted was on June 15th 1897, that dates the till to the very end of the 19th century, as tills supplied after 1900, carried a plate detailing the number of cash registers sold at the turn of the century.
