Unusual Antique Victorian Slatted Planter c.1880

This is a very unusual Victorian planter stand. Crafted in wood it is supported on three spherical feet. The base is beautifully turned with the waisted slatted body rising up to the florifom rim. The rim has satin wood banding and a hinged brass handle. This unusual piece was designed to hold a plant pot or similar. There is a small amount of damage close to the one of the handle fitting and there is some age related shrinkage.
